Natural Shamrock Shake

A few days ago, I heard an ad for McDonald's Shamrock Shake, then a few hours later saw an article posted on Facebook on why you should never drink one (see here). I knew they were unhealthy, but holy wow, yeah don't drink them!

Now, I may not be a dietician, or nutritionist, or medical professional, but I have a healthier alternative for your St. Patty's Day celebration! I give you my Natural Shamrock Shake!
5 ingredients vs the 33 in the "real" shake? Yes please. This shake is natural, filling, healthy, and a great way to fuel your morning (or detox post celebration!).

Natural Shamrock Shake:
blend in blender
1 cup milk of choice
1 tbl nut butter of choice
large handful of spinach
1/2 banana
ice

Blend and enjoy. I drank this last weekend before hitting the slopes and it kept me full for hours!

  2. I love green smoothies. I use frozen fruits instead of ice, and add a heaping scoop of protein powder.

  10. I almost stopped at McDonalds the other day to get one...but then I realized my girls weren't asking for one, probably wouldn't realize we've gotten them in the past and none of us needed it. So glad I didn't now that I've read that article!

  13. Glad you found a healthy replacement. I always lookout for how to make mocha or caramel frappuccinos at home so Blessing and I can enjoy them.
