Song-osity: Mountain High

Ain't no mountain high enough...
Ain't no valley low enough...

{Diana Ross - Ain't No Mountain High Enough}

Avi and I had some sister time and went across the river into Washington to hike Dog Mountain.

What a hike!

It's about 7.8 miles round trip and the first half - STRAIGHT uphill. We gained 2800 vertical feet by the time we reached the summit. We did so much climbing my fitbit thought I had climbed 250 flights of stairs!

As we broke the tree line we emerged into a field of wild flowers with stunning views of the Gorge. We kept climbing until we hit the summit. The views were breathtaking and worth the huffing and puffing we did on the way up.

After a short snack and leg break at the top we let gravity help down in record time. Seriously, hiking poles rock on the down hill. We made it to the bottom about 2.5 hours after we set out and with very tired legs!

It was a spectacular hike and a fun way to burn off the matzah we'd been eating and get some quality sister time.
And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

  1. I wish I had taken the time to get in better shape about 30 years ago. I couldn't hike like you've described today! But you had a lovely time, judging from the photos, and I'm glad you shared at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-cats-of-san-juan.html
