I hosted the second annual Friendsgiving Saturday night! It's so fun to have tons of friends over, enjoy good food, and hang out! I made my knockout cornbread stuffing and friends brought other tasty dishes and we just had a nice night!
The Random:
One of my phonics groups is working on identifying prefixes and suffixes in words. They were doing a task card activity this week and all handed me their sheets with the word "opun" on it. I told them "open is not spelled that way" then realized open doesn't have any affixes. Wouldn't you know..."undo" upside down is "opun" - oy!
The Fun:
We're half way through our mini-geometry unit! A fun break from the two computation units. I teach about lines, rays, and segments with a fun activity using toothpicks and dot stickers. It was a hit!

ReplyDeleteThe Good...there are few things that I enjoy more the cornbread stuffing!
ReplyDeleteThe Random...back in the 50s I was never learned phonics.
The Fun...keep making learning fun!
I wish you were my teacher.
ReplyDeleteYour friends dinner looks like lots of fun, and so does your classroom!
ReplyDeleteVery cool - I always like seeing what you add to the classroom.
ReplyDeleteOoh I bet that Friendsgiving was so yummy!! Love that about undo and opun!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen that "opun" picture three times now - and it's STILL ALL I CAN SEE! Even when I know what the word is supposed to be!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a good friend and an excellent teacher! I love to see all your ideas.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome. Definitely looks like a good spread of food and your classroom looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteFinally back - to answer your question - Yes, am good! Because some some big projects I had to scale back with blogging.
ReplyDeleteTogether with friends - what more fun can you have?!
'opun', huh?! I like that, who would have know it is 'undo' - hahah - the food looks great and having it together with friends is hard to be topped!
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of Friendsgiving, I kind of miss get togethers like that and am glad the family has lots of parties. Open upside down, very clever. Does reopen count?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of Friendsgiving too. As for opun-gate, my opun-minded opunion is that spelling still counts, except in puns!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to have a friendsgiving. Cornbread stuffing is my favorite. My husband makes the best.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a 'Friendsgiving.' :)
