The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 50

The Good:
I hosted the second annual Friendsgiving Saturday night! It's so fun to have tons of friends over, enjoy good food, and hang out! I made my knockout cornbread stuffing and friends brought other tasty dishes and we just had a nice night!

The Random:
One of my phonics groups is working on identifying prefixes and suffixes in words. They were doing a task card activity this week and all handed me their sheets with the word "opun" on it. I told them "open is not spelled that way" then realized open doesn't have any affixes. Wouldn't you know..."undo" upside down is "opun" - oy!

The Fun:
We're half way through our mini-geometry unit! A fun break from the two computation units. I teach about lines, rays, and segments with a fun activity using toothpicks and dot stickers. It was a hit!

  6. I've seen that "opun" picture three times now - and it's STILL ALL I CAN SEE! Even when I know what the word is supposed to be!!!

  11. I love the thought of Friendsgiving, I kind of miss get togethers like that and am glad the family has lots of parties. Open upside down, very clever. Does reopen count?

  12. I like the idea of Friendsgiving too. As for opun-gate, my opun-minded opunion is that spelling still counts, except in puns!
