The Stata Center was designed by Frank Gehry in 2004. It's a pretty wacky building, almost like one of those "this is because of common core math" memes. It has received mixed praise and criticism since it was built and apparently has had some structural issues.
No matter what, it's one neat building to me!

Structural issues aside, what cool buildings!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Tamar, what a cool building! And these images really capture the unique angles. Your meme reference gave me a good chuckle. I am curious about the structural issues now and must go look it up! Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteWow so cool!
ReplyDeleteThe buildings look like they are leaning on each other. Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteWe visited this the last time we were in Boston. My husband (the architect) loved it. It was probably his favorite part of the whole trip!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel queasy just looking at the photos, so I guess I will stay away.
ReplyDeleteI saw a pic of those buildings on a friend's blog, and had to drop everything and try to paint my own pic of them!!! so cool right?

I will say it again - you always find the coolest things to photograph and write about! I've never seen these before...and while it's too bad they have structural issues, they're quite interesting to see!
