Whipple Hill

I just learned about Whipple Hill a few months ago and took advantage of a clear day last weekend to go exploring. The park is in Lexington and is a lovely trail system with rocky outcrops and some other hidden treasures.

 A well-known part of the reserve is the abandoned 1952 Packard upside down in the woods. It's just there on the trail and so neat to see all the bits all rusted out, just sitting there. Not far from there is a set of stairs to nowhere too. I laughed since it reminded me of 2020...solid start then collapse...
 I love hikes that have rocky trails - it's my favorite type of hike to get to climb over a mix of terrain. Eventually, on this trail I ended up at the highest point in Lexington and then made my way back down.
A super easy and exciting trail and beautiful place to get away for a bit!

    This looks like a lovely place for a walk. It looks so green and fresh! Everything is already turning brown here.

    I often wonder what it would be like to find a hiking trail in Florida or other non-rocky places as I do enjoy a good rocky New England trail too.

    What a pretty place. I love being near the ocean but it’s such a drive for me to get to any woods. Well, there’s the Lynn woods but I’m a bit Leary of them.
