Kensico Dam Plaza sits at the exact center of Westchester County. It was built in 1917 and has stood tall ever since. In non-COVID summers it's the site of the amazing 4th of July fireworks show, but this year it's just a great park to get some fresh air.
The park is also home to the 9/11 memorial to all the county residents who lost their lives 19 years ago. It's such a beautiful monument to those who died that faithful day, nestled in a grove of trees and the shadow of the dam.
Looking forward to my hip healing more so I can run here on longer runs.

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this memorial but it's so beautiful. Looks like a place to get emotional/mental healing of any type as you heal from your hip injury.
