When we were in NYC last weekend we stumbled across murals in progress across from the NY Public Library. It took some googling later to learn it was a public art installation by the SOHO Renaissance Factory. Each piece has some connection to reading and literature and each was more powerful than the next.
This last one just blew me away. It represented those who struggle with reading - the writing in the books was backwards and misspelled. As someone who has had academic struggles, it was a powerful representation across the street from one of the most famous libraries in the world!

ReplyDeleteDo you know if this is a permanent or temporary installation? It's so cool! And I love that they acknowledged the difficulty some people have with reading. That's a part of the reading story too.
