Happy {belated} Purim!
This past weekend we noshed on hamantashen, read the megillah, and celebrated Haman's defeat.
This year's Purim feels heavier. Once again a big, mighty "Haman" is trying to overpower and conquer the few, the innocent. The shabbat before Purim we read about the nation of Amalek attacking the Israelites as they leave Egypt. We vow to stomp their name out forever...never again. I keep seeing similarities between all these stories and it's a heartbreaking cloud over this usual joyous festival.
That looks delicious
ReplyDeleteIt seems there is always a need for brave Esthers in our world. It's sad and frustrating and means we ALL have work to do.
ReplyDeleteI must agree with you here.
