The NYBG's big summer exhibit is a tribute to Van Gogh. I haven't made it to the garden to see the show by daylight, yet, but we did get to the Starry Nights evenings for a nice date night! The garden opens up in the early evening with music and consessions and you can stroll through the conservatory. But, the big event is the drone show as the evening winds down!
Neither of us had ever seen a drone show live and it did not disappoint! It was amazing to watch the drones change color and move into position as they created recreations of iconic Van Gogh subjects like sunflowers, irises, and Starry Night!
They say it takes about 500 drones to create this show and when the music ebbed you could hear their little motors whirring! We are drone show fans now!!
Oh wow; that is so neat looking! I've never been to a drone show before but they do sound so fun.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter & I went to see the Van Gogh exhibition when it was here in Australia, it was amazing all done with giant digital screens.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming the one you've seen is a different one. 😊
