The Japanese Society currently has an amazingly beautiful exhibit called Two Home Countries on dosplay. The masterpiece was created by Chiharu Shiota at. The amazing installation marks the ending of World War 3 and the subsequent 80 years since the end of World War II.
Shiota’s work weaves together memory, identity, and loss, connecting the collective tragedy of war with her own reflections on mortality and what it means to live between two homes. It’s quiet, powerful, and deeply striking. It was a perfect little stop on a morning in the city.
