After nine long months, lots of rubberbands, and being restricted to a non-crunchy diet, I am finally free at last! Last Wednesday, a few hours after landing back in Boston I was braces free!
I am still getting used to the feel of it, I still resort to my usual food clearing maneuvers (sorry if that's TMI) after I eat, but I don't have to! I even had spinach for dinner Wed. night just because I could without having green stuff stuck up in my grill (-:Of course, now it's retainers, but they are clear, and I am getting used to them and anything is better than braces. This process was totally worth it, my bite is better, my teeth are straight, and they look great, for the second time around!
I am loving being able to eat crunchy foods, although I am almost learning how to bite into crunchy foods again.
The first crunchy thing I bit into! An apple, without it being pre-cut (-:Free at last, free at last, thank my orthodontist, I am free at last!

I remember that feeling! That makes life a little more enjoyable doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYay! I remember getting mine off, sooo nice. Your teeth look amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou look great, your teeth look great! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't really relate, unfortunately --much as I'd wanted to be able to do so. Remember my attempt to pretend I had braces by covering my teeth with aluminium foil?! 8S
I had braces when I was 40. Both of my kids did too...I sure don't miss those braces, but my teeth look nice!
ReplyDeleteSmile! You look wonderful!
That is so awesome. What a beautiful smile you have. My 16 year old just got out of braces a few months ago and my 12 year old will be getting his on next week. My bank account will never get a break.
ReplyDeleteYAY! How liberating! As someone that had braces I know the feeling. Unfortunately for me though, I am STILL wearing my retainer...and we are talking 10+ years here.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! It is so nice to see your pretty smile...Never having had the grill work myself, I cannot say so much about that...however, I think it makes for a happiness, retainer and all.
ReplyDeletethank you for coming to easy tuesday!
hahahaha. love you new smile! i had braces at age 45 and after they were off I still couldn't bite into an apple for years (like 5 yrs). The braces weakened my teeth, but I am so glad I got the braces, tho.
ReplyDeletethanks for linking to e.a.s.y. tuesday! that is awesome!!!!
yes, log flume rides are so fun!!!!!
Yea! I remember that feeling. Your smile looks awesome ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your lovely smile, Tamar.
ReplyDeleteWow! I never would notice the retainers. Very incognito!
ReplyDeleteHaha, love how happy you look! :-)
ReplyDeleteSO happy for you!!!!! I'm cracking up about the retainer. I wish I had worn mine. Although it wasn't clear.
ReplyDeleteso happy for you, they can be such a "pain"!!!
ReplyDeleteHi,I'm visiting from MerryDotDandy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that awesome smile!
My son just got braces last month and he is having to adjust to a non-crunchy and gum-free lifestyle.
I bet that feels good! Look at that smile! Crunch away Tamar and enjoy every bite!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a gorgeous smile you have! TOTALLY worth the aggravation you went thru. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYay!! So, so happy for you! Beautiful smile! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember that "free" feeling! Scrumptious photo of the apple, too!
ReplyDeleteHey that's exciting! Congratulations!! You've got a great smile - enjoy it! You deserve all the crunchy apples you can get after all that. :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo...that's awesome! And, only nine months? Things have certainly changed since I had braces loooooong ago. :)
ReplyDeleteYour smile looks great! I remember the feeling of getting my braces off...I just wish that my bottom teeth would have remained straight. Ugh...I think I had some crowding and on of my bottom front teeth decided to move forward years later.
ReplyDeleteaw your teeth look great! I remember getting my braces off, best feeling ever!
ReplyDeleteThat must be such a good feeling to have them off!
