Old State House

But remember from here on in...
History has its eyes on you...

{History Has Its Eyes On You -- Hamilton}

I found myself downtown a few weekends ago.
A grey frigid day.
The usually busy streets were empty.
I followed the Freedom Trail. The bricks laid into the crooked side walks.
I found myself at the Old State House.
At the intersection where the Boston Massacre happened.
I remembered how fortunate I am to live where so much history happened.
Many of our country's firsts happened here.
So many catalysts that have led us to where we are and who we are now.
I have my eyes on history daily.
And history still has its eyes on us.
How will we be remembered for our deeds in 2018?

  1. It's striking to see old landmarks survive in the midst of towering new buildings, isn't it?

  7. I walked the Freedom Trail in Boston--so very interesting! Every place has its share of history--even out here in Colorado, with its Native American history and the Gold Rush and pioneer stories. There is always a history to learn!
