Boston Bricks

I read about Winthrop Lane and the Boston Bricks on Atlas Obscura and had to get down to the financial district to check them out. The inlaid bronze bricks created by artist Kate Burke feature the best of Boston's past and present and were installed a few years back.

From what I've read online there were once 100 of them - some were obviously pulled up and replaced with regular bricks with numbers in sharpie, so maybe they'll be returned!

Tamar, these are so amazingly cool! The ones that are missing, were they stolen? Or just removed for repair or something? If stolen, then I sit here shaking my head in disbelief at people. Thanks for sharing these!

I have never noticed those bricks before when in Boston. I always love reading your blog because I get to see the city through real love and admiration. I read the other day that the top of the hub closed down. So bummed that I didn't know that this summer.

This is so cool!! I'm loving the Boston Public Library of course, as a bookworm. :) Thanks for sharing, and linking up with Local Tourist.
