Passover is off to a great start: good seders, good food, good company, not too much matzah, yet...
The Random:
April Fool's day was the last day of school before Passover Vacation. I may have had a little fun! I gave one group a "spelling test" that in the end spelled out "There really is no spelling quiz today tricked you happy April first" - they fell for it! Then I told them I had "brown e's" for them...they groaned at that one before I gave them real brownies!
The Fun:
The teachers won the Pillo Polo match! It was a riot to play and the kids got a kick out of seeing us (even the principal and vice principal!) in our work clothes and sneakers! I totally took a stick to the face and came away with a battle wound, so worth it though!

oh, you are good! I kinda suck at the whole April Fool's Day and mostly pretend it isn't a real thing. Mostly works! Enjoy the holiday.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great when teachers interact with students in sports or other nonacademic activities. It makes them appear more human and opens up avenues for the kids to be able to talk openly with them. Builds a good rapport. I bet the kids learn better from teachers like you.
ReplyDeleteFun!! Hope you're enjoying your time off!
