My friends say I am NUTS...but this year will be another good year for running! I registered for the BAA Distance Medley. A 5k, a 10k, and a half marathon this year! Bring it on!
The Random:
Welcome to New England...where if you don't like the weather you can wait a minute. We went from subzero and snow to 50s and rain in 4 days. Oy!
The Fun:
In our mindfulness curriculum, we learned about the brain and mindfully smelling - mainly we learned how the brain "tags" scents and how they can make us think of memories. We did a mystery scent activity. The kids LOVED it - the facial expressions were priceless!

We have the same weather here in the winter. Sun one minute, then crazy rain the next. I like your wellies!
ReplyDeleteDial soap and cedar brings me right back to my nana and papa's cottage on the shore in CT. I think I would be bored with any other kind of weather...New Englanders must have a sort of weather ADD. Speaking of New England, those boots are wicked awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe Good: Keep going for it!
ReplyDeleteThe Random: It's not just in New England! Great pants.
The Fun: This activity has been around in various forms since I was a kid.
Good for you with the next marathon!! The weather was crazy here last week too. I love that mindful smelling unit. They must have loved it too!
ReplyDeleteOh my - yes, it's 11 degrees right now - by Wed we will be near 50 with rain. Going to be a sloppy mess around here when all this snow melts. But it will be so nice to see the road again, instead of a solid sheet of ice.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is like that too.
ReplyDeleteWhat was that "mystery" smell? Curious minds want to know! I'd love to do that lesson with my grandchildren. You always come up with the best ideas!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you enjoy running. Are those colorful leggings LuLaRoe brand? My daughter in law sells them and they are always so cute and comfortable.
Happy Monday!
Same temps here, but 14 days of rain - on and of and only one day of snow! These boots are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI am in NJ, and we're having the exact same weather. So weird... Love your colorful rainboots!
ReplyDeleteJust have had a ton of rain here in the Bay Area.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck on your runs.
Our weather has been very fickle too. Love those boots!
ReplyDeleteLove the boots!
ReplyDeleteLove those rain boots!
ReplyDeleteyes, your weather sounds hectic...
ReplyDeleteOh, my kids (and me, too!) love the mystery smell tests at the museum (of spices). I love it that you get the kids to do that. I wish we had these "fun" activities when I was a student.
ReplyDeleteYour boots, I'm a little envious of them. ;-D Good luck in all your races.
