Run to Remember

And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free...

And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me...

{God Bless the USA - Lee Greenwood}

Race number 2 of 2017 is in the books. I ran the Boston Run to Remember 5 miler for the first time on Sunday and it was a great race!

Mom came to town to cheer me on and it was great to have my numero uno cheerleader there! I also knew a friend from my days at Heath and got to see her and a friend of hers (yay running friends).

The route was a lovely loop of downtown and began and ended in the Seaport District. There was something super amazing about running a race that honors fallen first responders over the holiday weekend. Every police officer I ran past I thanked and it made the run that much more special.

I ended up running a fantastic race! My net time was 47:45. There were 2632 runners for the five mile race and I finished 732nd. In my age bracket I was 112 out of 430. And out of 1630 female runners I was 340th. I will take it!!

Next up, the BAA 10k in a month!
