Sail Boston

I'm sailing away...
Set an open course for the virgin sea...
I've got to be free...
Free to face the life that's ahead of me...

{Styx - Come Sail Away}

This past weekend, over 50 tall ships arrived in Boston! Boston is an official port on the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta and the ships arrived from Bermuda for some days in our fair port.

I went down a few years ago when the last batch of tall ships had arrived and enjoyed my trip to the Harbor on Sunday. The ships were amazing! I just love all the lines from the masts and sails and the flags flapping about in the sea breeze.

Being down on the water, smelling the sea air really made me miss my beach town upbringing! I maybe a city girl now, but I still love being out near the water!

  3. I've never been particularly tempted to go to Boston. Sights like this may make me reconsider!

  5. I'd miss it too. You've got me thinking about checking out some kind of fleet week in Milwaukee with all these fine photos. I had to Pin the pic of the mast in the middle I like it so much.

  6. Interesting detailed photos. We have some tall ships that sail round the harbour - we did a weekend away on one too...

  7. Beautiful blue skies! It's been pouring non-stop here. I can't see anything out the window... just a sheet of white nothingness.

  8. I love seeing the tall ships, though I don't think that I would like to be out in the open sea on one! Happy travels.
