Pencils hang down in front of the textures and fabric. The piece is meant to explore ideas of free speech and how we interact with each other. Some people wrote their names, others wrote positive messages, other drew pictures.
The colors and lines of the writing really drew me in. 9 months into the exhibition and you can see how many people have come through the museum. How far and wide each of our messages can spread.
A simple, but powerful installation.
the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday and Little Things Thursday...right here!
...sometimes lately, 'We are many, They are few' doesn't feel like the way things are.
ReplyDeleteWow, Tamar, this is really cool! I love interactive art and you know I really a good positive message! So beautiful. There is a duo of local artists in my community who do live art shows where they just paint and paint on a huge mural size canvas while people watch. They often invite the audience to add to the piece as well....which is similar to this idea and it is really quite a cool initiative to engage people and involve them more in an appreciation of art. Thanks for sharing this!

Oh wow! I really like that!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool - I like the graffiti-like vibe it has
ReplyDeleteI love this! So fun!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And I hope she is right - We are many, they are few!
ReplyDeleteIsn't this just wonderful. Free speech is a right and a privilege and a responsibility all at once. We should be safe to speak up. The artist has created a party, where each person is safe to speak. Love that you showcased it, and the image of three woman at the wall reminds me of the wailing wall in Jerusalem. Similar in that one should feel free to pray, and to peacefully speak one's mind both.
ReplyDeleteI love when you can interact with art!
