The chrysanthemum, or kiku in Japanese is a very celebrated fall plant in Japanese culture. There are many ways they train and nurture these flowers - from sculptures to bonsai trees!
It takes the NYBG horticulturists 11 months to grow their mums in both modern and ancient styles. It was a truly beautiful fall display!

Mums were always a plus at the HS football game in the Fall. Such a beautiful flower and your photos of them are beautiful. :)
