{Neil Diamond -- Coming to America}
Every Memorial Day, on the Boston Common, there are close to 40,000 American flags placed on the Boston Common. Each flag represents a Massachusetts citizen who died serving the country. Since the Revolutionary War.
When I first learned that it stopped me in my tracks. In America's nearly 243 years, almost 40,000 men and women from this little state have bravely died defending our country. Even more profound to me was that these flags are placed where much of the nation's early history unfolded.
This weekend may mark the unofficial start to summer, but these flags are a poignant reminder that so many have given their lives for this country. Their bravery will never be forgotten.

ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting.
I am so sorry this happened to you. Tamar, as I know how much you loved running! A similar thing happened to my niece after she ran the NYC marathon. She does not run any longer but loves exercising at the gym now. I hope wit rest and PT you will heal and be able to go back to running again!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo Tamar.
