Rosh Hashana Revisited

Inscribe us for blessing in the Book Of Life
Let the new year be a good year for us...
Avinu malkeinu
Chandesh a leynu
Shana tova...

{Avinu Malkeinu -- Barbra Streisand}

Another High Holiday season has begun.
Another strange Jewish holiday separated from our congregations and friends.
Mom and I made the best of it.
Time together.
Yummy food.

The beauty of Judaism is that we are so grounded in customs and rituals.
Even in a year of chaos, we had normal.
Apples and honey.
Round challah.
New fruits.
Apple cake.

May this only be a year of health for us all!

  6. I really loved learning about this yesterday. I'd never heard of it, tbh. And now Apple Cake! Superb! I'm sorry you can't be sharing with others this year.

This also reminds me that I bought a pomegranate last week for Sam and I to eat and it's still sitting there waiting for us...
