The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 38

The Good:
The local kosher supermarket had an amazing offering of more exotic fruits ahead of Rosh Hashana. It's a custom to eat fruits you haven't had in a year, so many people go to the more exotic types since we don't often eat them. 

The Random:
What we have here is a failure to read...

The Fun:
Part of Rosh Hashana is called tashlich where we go to the water and cast out sins ahead of a new year. I joined the 4th graders at the beach for their early ceremony as part of the Judaic studies class.

    OMG the leaf dumping! How funny! Those fruits are look so amazing! I was just reading on Glass of Glam about the Jewish tradition of eating apples and honey as well and it made me hungry! And I love that you took the kids to the beach for Judaic studies! That is so great!

    I love this exotic fruits tradition - I wonder how the 'eat fruit you haven't eaten in a long time' bit started? Also love the idea of casting stones into the ocean...
