It had been almost 4 years since I was at the Central Park Zoo. It's small but enjoyable and most of the animals were up and about (aside from the sleeping bear, Betty).
The snow leopard was huge and got really close after waking up from its afternoon nap. The red panda was so fluffy and really active (and just adorable!). And oh my, the sea lions, they were hamming it up for the crowd! A true NYC gem.
Glad you had fun. The bear looks very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Tamar! I have never been to the Central Park Zoo but I bet it is a wonderful place to stroll around. Although zoos have always kind of bothered me some, I do love to watch the animals and observe their behaviors.

We love red pandas! They are so adorable and so fluffy. The one and only time we were supposed to go to the Central Park Zoo both my husband and I got sick and we ended up having to stay home.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a zoo in Central Park! I want to make a field trip to NYC!
ReplyDelete...I had forgotten that there was a zoo.
ReplyDeleteI need to get there one of these days. I love red pandas!
ReplyDeleteWe used to love going there!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! It has been a long time since I went to a zoo.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Zoos, sadly, may be the last lifeline for many species. We have not been good stewards of the wildlife on this planet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a zoo in so long! Fort Wayne has a nice one but I believe it's still closed. Penguins are always a favorite for me. They're so fascinating!!! But I'm with Betty....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
ReplyDeleteI need to get to both the Oakland and San Francisco Zoo's soon. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the animals!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!

Nice pics!
ReplyDeleteWe LOVED our Central Park Zoo visit and I totally remember how surprised I was at how smelly the penguin house was! I don't remember seeing a lot of outside animals besides the seals.
