Rockefeller Center pulled out all the fun stops this summer! There are two summer-long immersive art pieces on the plaza right now making a huge splash. At the plaza outside 30 Rock there is an awesome fountain piece called Changing Spaces by artist Jeppe Hein. You can run in and out of the rings of water as they rise and fall - a perfect spot to be on the hot city days.
Across from the plaza in the Channel Gardens are 4 Funtime Unicorns by artist Derrick Adams. A fun, magical twist on the riding toys of 80s and 90s playgrounds you can hop on, rock a little, and pop off. A little whimsy in the middle of midtown! I also got a kick out of the coffee cart turned into a roller skate as a nod to the roller rink that has also taken over the plaza for the summer!
...an entirely different look!
