A trip to DC isn't complete without a trip to AU! I hadn't been on campus in 5 years and it's always amazing to be back and see what's changed. I forgot how gorgeous the campus is, especially in summer with flowers everywhere. It's crazy to think that it's been 16 years since I started as a freshman and 12 since I graduated!
I explored a few of the new buildings that have been built in the last few years and just meandered around. One fun change was the lower level of the bookstore is now a hip cafe. It was the actual textbook part, I guess no one uses 100lb textbooks anymore...? The new science building is just stunning, a far cry from the former science hall that was built in 1896! It's always good to be back, as we say once an Eagle, always an Eagle!
...gorgeous is an understatement!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful campus, Tamar! And how fun to go back and see how much it has changed. I am actually heading to my college area (Lehigh University) next weekend. I haven’t been back there in many years and I am excited to see what it looks like now!

Looks pretty and the animal statues are fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful campus. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Severna Park MD and never went to AU but knew people who grad from there. Fun to see the campus

Whenever I walk the streets of DC, I wonder what it must be like to be a student there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful campus! I was surprised when my son started college last year and found that ALL of his textbooks are online. Though I definitely miss the reduced price "used" books since that's no longer an offer when renting them online!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I grew up in Alexandria yet I don’t think I ever really toured the AU campus. I drove past there, and I did tour GW when my daughter was considering schools. https://webcroft.blogspot.com/2022/08/passing-storm-east-of-strasburg.html
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go back, visit and walk down memory lane!
