Gilder Center at the American History Museum

I finally made it to the new {stunning} wing of the American History Museum. The Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation opened over the summer. It is a work of art and filled with amazing new exhibits and installations. 
The Gilder Center's breathtaking design is meant to mimic the natural paths wind and water carve into landscapes or that water can etch into ice. It is so airy and no matter where you stand or which floor you are on there are new curves and angles to see. For me, I was there more for the building than the exhibits, but I also checked out the library, the display cases, the insectarium, and the living world's immersive exhibit!

    It's the first time I've seen anything by this architect, Jeanne Gang, and it's absolutely amazing. I love the way she organises space and the material she gives to her volumes.
