Broadway Museum

I have been itching to get to the Museum of Broadway since it opened last year! Judah and I went a few weekends ago and it did not disappoint. It is a true mecca for any Broadway lover, filled with amazing exhibits, artifacts, and tidbits about the Great White Way!
There were several walls plastered with Playbill covers and pages. It was fun to see well known favorites and some lesser known titles as well.
Several Tonys had been donated to the collection and it was amazing to see them up close. They aren't that big!
There were tons of sets that you could interact with or get quite close to! Judah looked pretty fitting behind the counter from West Side Story! I was in awe of the actual chairs from Cabaret, too! Those have seen some amazing Fosse dancing in their day.
There was a beautiful tribute to those from Broadway who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDs and a reminder that while it's not the epidemic it once was it is still a real danger to many.
The costume collection was amazing! They had costumes from RENT, Phantom, Hamilton, Follies, Six, and more! It was amazing to see the intricate details that went into each piece.
They really brought to life how much work goes into the creating each show. The hours or writing, the revisions, the roadblocks and more were all represented in amazing ways.
There was also a huge section on the behind the scenes element of Broadway which was fun to see!
A true gem in the NYC museum roster now!!

  3. You really can't beat a stage show - unless it is a museum about stage shows. I would love to see this exhibition. Our last theatre production was Chicargo not long before Christmas. Have fun, enjoy your week, and thankyou again for the linkup and the look at where your world!
