This was another wet and exciting week. It actually went by so fast, I feel like it was yesterday that I was sitting here on the couch, writing this post.
This was the last full week of the school year! 1 1/2 days left for the kids and the week for us staff and we're on our way into the summer. Amazing. Really. What a great year! At our last staff meeting of the year we did a really special thing. We were each given a small canister and we told to choose stones from a basket and go to our fellow teachers and give them a blessing for the summer or coming year. It was just so touching and made me love where I work even more.
It was another soggy week - we've received close to 8 inches of rain so far this month! Good-bye drought! Something really comforting about the sound of rain on the tree leaves though...got to find a bright spot in the rain, right?
I also (!) finished my first book for my summer reading challenge and am already half-way through the next one! I'll share more about them later this month, so stay tuned! Other than that - normal life stuff: my June BirchBox game, I mailed my absentee ballot for the senate election, and renewed my lease. Busy, busy!
Highlight of the week: making one of my favorite summer dinners for the first time of the season: salmon grilled with peaches and red onions and a side of corn on the cob, yum-o!!

Favorite teaching moment: On Friday, I ate lunch with my third graders. We all sat around the conference table, eating, and finsihing out read-a-loud book. Such simple memories being made.
Random-osity: The new apple ear buds? Yeah, I am convinced they're labeled wrong. I need to put the left one in my right ear and vice versa otherwise I hear nothing! That or my ears are on the wrong sides of my head...
Also! I'm working on growing the blog's facebook page - won't you please join me over there as well? I post a sampling of the random things around me and would love to connect there (here) too!

I look forward to hearing about your reading challenge...I am a huge lover of the word. I just finished "The Paris Wife." Ernest's Hemingway's first wife tells her side of the relationship.
ReplyDeleteGRILLED PEACHES....yum!!!! One of my favs along with grilled pineapple. Was talking to the guy working the deli counter at Whole Foods yesterday and he was telling me how he grills mango. Never tried that, but its a def "must do".
