Mom and I drove south to Ashland, OR for a few days. Ashland is about 20 miles from the CA border.
The views are gorgeous, so different then Portland. And boy it's hot, but a dry heat! The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is what Ashland is known for. We saw a very interesting staging on "My Fair Lady" - it was well done, I really enjoyed all the dancing they had in the production!
We explored Lithia Park, too. It was too hot to do too much exploring, but it was a gorgeous park that runs along a river.
There were tons of places to get into the river and there were tons of kids playing in it! My feet and I decided to cool off for a bit.
We walked around Ashland for the afternoon, there were lots of fun shops to pop into and explore. It's a quaint little town in a location we'd otherwise never get to. Now we're off to Crater Lake, so so so excited for that!!
What a pretty place! Looks like you're having fun!
ReplyDeletePretty park and doesn't that clear water look so refreshing. I've never ascribed to the whole differential of hot/dry heat - to me and my sweat glands: hot is hot and I am an equal opportunity sweater.
ReplyDeleteI would love to explore a place like this. The backdrop of those mountains is magnificent. Such a polar opposite of the scenery I see daily.
ReplyDeleteYour tootsies in the water looks so refreshing -- I would do that too! Enjoy and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful- I love that part of Oregon. I used to spend a lot of time in Grants Pass & Medford long ago. Really pretty.
ReplyDelete*sigh* Just beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI have always found those 'out of the way' places quite interesting. Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteWe're headed to Grants Pass on Saturday - with a stop at Crater Lake either on the way there or back. I've never been to Ashland, or this far south in OR - so I'm looking forward to it!! Your pics are lovely - and I would have loved to have seen that play...
ReplyDeleteoh it looks like such a lovely place to visit. So happy you and your mama had a great time together!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, it looks lovely there!
ReplyDeleteOh, did you know I lived in the PNW in Seattle years ago. We traveled to Oregon and Northern Calif 2 times in our 4 years there. I loved it up there. Always so refreshing and nice, but when it got into the high 80s I would start to melt.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and enjoy your stay. Thanks for the super tour via your awesome photos!
