this is going to be the best day of my life...
The full moon just passed, that means we're halfway through the month of Cheshvan in the Hebrew calendar. Our calendar follows the lunar cycle, which also means days begin at nightfall. It's so interesting to view the cycle of days/nights from a different perspective.
The new day begins with the rising of the moon, full of wonder and splendor.
A sunrise brings continued possibility and motivation to take on the day.
A gorgeous fire streaked sky ends the day on a breathtaking note, no better way to wrap a day then with that outside your window.
Some days are "those" days - seeing the sky looking like this helps the stress melt away!

Hoping my sunrise has the same effect on me Tamar! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that about the Hebrew calendar. Such a cool notion...it's made a connection for me with the seasons. Winter, perhaps...and not spring...is the new beginning. Spring being the dawn, summer the full light of day and autumn the sunset. A night's rest, then, becomes what we do to begin and prepare our day. And in winter, when all seems at rest, that same renewal is taking place! I love this! For someone who doesn't like going to bed, this might help me seriously 'begin' my day earlier!! (well, after the Sox win the world series...)
ReplyDeleteLove that sunrise
