Down on the Lower East Side, the old Jarmulowsky Bank building has been turned into the city's latest boutique hotel. The bank was a fixture in the Lower East Side at the turn of the 20th century and a key part of the neighborhood's history.
The new Nine Orchard hotel recently opened after a nearly 10-year overhaul of the building. The rooms are apparently really swanky and the lounge in the former lobby of the bank is just breathtaking! The restored beaux-art details are so well appointed down the fabrics and chandeliers. My favorite little detail was the swan benches outside on Orchard and Canal streets!
I love it when older buildings are repurposed Tamar.
