Today is Tu B'shevat, the Jewish holiday for the trees. Today we celebrate the reawakening of the trees in Israel and the promise of spring being on the horizon. Personally, it's one of my favorite holidays - and this year part of the learning we did in class tied into another love of mine, tweet/social media.
I chose a quote that was tied to the holiday and because the holiday falls on the 15th of the month, the kids had to respond in no more than 15 words. Then to really push their thinking, I had them think of one word that summarized their response and that was their hashtag.
As usual, they blew me away with their tweets about Tu B'shevat!

Those are some cool kiddos you have there! And I love hearing about all the different Jewish holidays/celebrations.
