Mom and I finally got to our second Broadway show since the Great White Way reopened. We saw Hadestown on Sunday afternoon and it was just spectacular. We had phenomenal seats, the book is just beautiful, and the cast and band were amazing.
The staging was just so powerful and the small ensemble (the Workers) was just wow. We had an understudy for Hermes and he was beyond fantastic! It was one of the Fates last show with the company. They gave her a sendoff at curtain call which was so special. In all my years of seeing shows, I have never seen someone's final bows!
...the music was certainly different.

I have never heard of this book - I must look out for it. I love the idea of a small stage - you are much closer to the actors. Enjoy your week, stay safe, and thank you again for the link up.
ReplyDeleteThis is my daughter's favorite show and I actually won the lottery for tickets this summer and NJ Transit just stopped all of the trains that day so we couldn't get into the city. It was so disappointing! I really want to see it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I am glad that you got to go. Very nice.
