I am ashamed to admit that I had never been to The Strand Bookstore! One of the biggest independent bookstores in the city, it's a famed spot in the Village. I love a good independent book shop and this one did not disappoint.
It reminded me a lot of Powells in Portland and the Booksmith in Boston. Tall shelves were packed with new and used books, lots of fun extras from puzzles to plush veggies. There was such a fun vibe in the place and it was great to see it packed to the gills in the age of Amazon.

ReplyDeleteThere is a fair number of books instore! I would not have thought that bookshops can still survive in the current marketplace.
