On Growth, On The High Line

The big featured art piece on the High Line right now is by artist Kapwani Kiwanga. "On Growth" is a sculpture of a fern displayed in a glass case. The sun hits the glass casting gorgeous prism colored reflections in every direction. "On Growth" is meant to artistically recreate the feeling of a greenhouses or nurseries.

The day I walked the High Line was really windy and cold. The colors being cast through the piece felt so warm and reminded me that summer days are on the way...soon!
