Trail of 10 Falls Hike

Judah had one request on his birthday: to hike! He chose Silver Falls State Park which has a hike called "The Trail of Ten Falls" -- we chose to do the 6 mile loop which brings us to 7 of the 10 falls and it was the perfect hike! We got to the trail just as the park opened and beat the crowds. The trail was just stunning! Each fall was more mesmerizing than the next. Many of the falls you hike under which really feels amazingly refreshing and equally beautiful.

We saw some people on the trail, but not enough to make it crowded. The hike was not too hard either. Some steep switchbacks but otherwise long enough to feel accomplished but not wipe us out! The weather was just stunning too - crisp and clear! 

Oregon hiking just hits differently than hiking back east and I am glad I finally did this iconic hike!!

The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 30

The Good:

We're back home after a great week in Oregon! The boys loved the time with Judah and the puppies weren't mad about it either! It was Judah's birthday on Tuesday and it was fun to celebrate with Avi and fam!

The Random:

The Fun:

We took the boys to Top Golf one afternoon. It was my first time at a driving range in ages and turns out I am really good at it!

PDX Rose Garden

The roses are in bloom at the Portland Rose Garden!! The city is dubbed the City of Roses and this stunning part of Forest Park is a central part of the city. Many of the varieties were on full display and you can tell that the blooms are just getting started this summer!

It was so fun to walk through the garden with Judah this time! We didn't stay too long because we were hungry for lunch and the sun was getting pretty strong, but it was a perfectly perfect stop to quickly stop and smell the roses!

PDX Japanese Gardens

You can't come to Portland without a trip to the Japanese Gardens! The weather was perfectly crisp so the lushness of the forest felt even more cozy and peaceful. The kids ran off on a scavenger hunt and Judah and I walked around together. 

We treated ourselves to the tea house before we left the hill and enjoyed the treats and teas! This is such a special place in Oregon and one of our favorites! I do not think I have ever come to PDX and not come to the gardens!
