P52: Week 9 around the sun

This week was back to real life, which really, wasn't too bad at all. We had a touch more snow, but also some sun, and now it's March, really?

Of course, I stayed up way too late on Sunday night watching the Oscars. I actually thought Seth MacFarlane was not too shabby. Watching him host did make me realize that one of our local weather guys is a dead ringer for MacFarlane. I was so happy that Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence won. Great speeches and dresses too!

Back to school it was as well. We eased in on Monday with celebrating Purim as a school (super fun). On the academic side of things, I started a unit on space with my class. They are eating it up! A bunch of my kiddos go to homework club after school and I have been getting emails from them telling me more things they have googled about space on their own - that is the way to a teacher's heart, I tell you!

The other exciting thing this week was the Udi's gluten free company sent me a box of products to try (I am floored by how much they sent me!). Look for some fun food posts this week!

Highlight of the week: having another trainer at the gym tell me one morning that she could see I was getting stronger. Made me super happy, and was a nice compliment to my trainer too!

Favorite teaching moment: watching my class fall in love with our unit on outer space. I was (still am) a space enthusiast and seeing my student's love for all things space related is so exciting.

Random-osity: We started our staff meeting this week by watching Jon Stewart talk about Purim. Seriously, hilarious! (really, google it!)

  3. hi Tamar!

That picture of Sandra Bullock is so her, I remember her doing that then and no body laughed. I was laughing at home. Sean McFarlane was pretty good, I thought. Glad your students are excited about space. I think it is because you are. Have a fabulous week, my sweet!

  6. Sounds like you had a great week! I didn't watch the Oscars but I keep hearing funny things about it that makes me wish I had tuned in at least a little. Love the snow-covered branches! So pretty with a touch of blue sky in the background!

  8. I didn't watch the Oscars but usually do. Hubbie isn't into it, but I kind of wished I had seen at least some of it.

Way to go at the gym!! :)
My kids love studying space too!

Hope you have another great week.

  12. I love that your meeting began with some humor. More administrators should think about that.
Your first snow shot is really beautiful and you know I don't "do" snow.
    Have a great day.

  13. Snow on trees is my absolute favorite. Mostly we see snow on pine trees here so it's nice to see it on other types of trees too. Have fun teaching about space. My 3rd grader just started a unit on space in school too and he'll be doing a planet report which he's super excited about.
