Book Festival

I went downtown this weekend to check out the Boston Boo Festival. The weather was finally gorgeous and it was the perfect fall weekend to meander around Boston.

I passed by the local Apple Store, the largest in the US, the memorial to Steve Jobs was really touching. A true visionary gone, but not forgotten, I suppose.
Then a few blocks away, book time! It was really hopping and I was excited to check out the various booths and sights.
The festival was in Copley Square, in the shadow of the famous Boston Public Library. There were various vendors and performances. Sadly, none of the performances occurring during my time at the festival were really interesting, but they sure did have a lot going on!
And of course there were lots of books. Lots and lots of books! No Boston Book Festival would be complete without an entire book dedicated to the Red Sox!
There were books for sale at many booths, children's books, fiction, non-fiction, best-sellers, and new titles. Some booths were overflowing as people paged though all the books.
There were lots of fun activities too, a fortune teller who used Bananagrams to look into your future, story times, balloon animal makers, the Cat in the Hat, and more!
I came away with a free shirt (courtesy of Google eBooks), tons of coupons for my favorite yogurt, a free Boston Magazine, and lots of other misc goodies.  It was a fun afternoon out, for sure!

Love the memorial - and books always makes me happy! I was so surprised that I couldn´t find a big book store in Chicago, my friends said they had closed (though they maybe didn´t know of all). I was like: "REALLY?! People don´t READ?!" :-D
