The best of times

A few weeks ago, LivingSocial was running a offer that I couldn't refuse. A very discounted subscription to Broadway in Boston! This season's show lineup was too good to pass up so I signed up!

One of the shows showing was La Cage Aux Falles, and as a true lover of The Birdcage I was dying to see it! My fellow Heath intern and I bought tickets for the weekend after our semester ended, we couldn't wait!

Saturday night was the night! I got all ready and we headed downtown for a nice dinner and the show!
It's so funny to think that I got dressed up, when I really where this type of thing everyday! But, heck, not being in comfy clothes on a Saturday night makes it dressy!
We headed down to Legal Sea Foods, a favorite of mine! Nothing beats elegant but unpretentious dining! I just love how Legal creates a great ambiance in their restaurants!
I got my favorite grilled trout with broccoli, it was so good, and the Rose I enjoyed was perfect too! After dinner we grabbed desert at a local desert place called Finale. I got a chocolate mousse with berries, um yum! Good thing I worked out that day!
Then, show time!! I was so excited! We got to our seats, second row balcony (!) and took in the warm up act, hilarious! Then it was show time! It was everything I imagine it would be! George Hamilton was fantastic and Christopher Seiber stole the show, I was crying from laughing half the time! The curtain call even turned into a huge sing-a-long of "The Best of Times"-- just so much fun!

What a magical evening and a fun way to reward ourselves after a hard semesters worth of work! Now I am itching to watch The Birdcage! And! Next broadway show on tap? Les Mis in March!!
