May showers. Green and Flowers.

We had such a wet week this past week. Just damp and dreary and rainy and misty and blech. This weekend the weather finally turned around, I thought the sun was a figment of my imagination, but it was the real deal.
I quickly grabbed my camera and went out for a walk and some Vitamin D therapy. Of course, the sun went and hid again within seconds of my foot crossing the threshold. But it was a nice walk, anyway!
Everything is such an amazing deep green color. There is actually something quite stunning, in my mind, about the grey sky and the deep dark greenery. Such interesting contrast.
I walked around the corner to a lovely little park which sits across the road from an old church. Sitting there I forget that one of the main roads in Brookline is one block away.
Of course, with an abundance of rain, comes an abundance of dandelion puffs! People with lawns to weed might hate me for saying this, but, I thing the puffs are the most interesting and whimsical weed out there! What other weed do you make a wish on?
Then on my way back home, the bobbins and thread in my neighborhood dry cleaner's caught my eye. It actually catches my eye each morning, but 5:15 am isn't the time to get artsy! I just love how it photographed through the window glass.
Just a simple walk on a simple weekend. Sometimes, there is nothing better!

WOW- such beauty all around you. LOVE the church- reminds me of St. Anne's in Boston.

All these pics from a 5am walk? I must say that I do love the unhurried, all-the-world-to-myself kind of feeling of very early mornings. I just can't bear to part company with my bed so early, though. :)

I love the bobbins. :)

So glad you stopped to capture the bobbins at a more reasonable hour. They are actually quite beautiful thru the glass and those colors. And everything is so green here too...I feel as if I'm looking at the world thru technicolor glasses.

Our lilacs are beautiful now too, and so are the whimsical dandelions. Why fight a losing battle...just enjoy them, right? The bobbins and threads are excellent, and I too like the muted look.
