The NY Botanical Gardens does a wonderful show every holiday season. They call it the train show, but it really is about the amazing structures they build to go along side the tracks. They recreate famous NY area landmarks out of natural materials and they are stunning.
It all starts with Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and Laguardia airport. All the various bridges make their appearances.
As do the lions at the public library.
City Hall with a model of the garden's conservatory behind it.
St. Peter's and Rockafeller Center.
And of course, the Guggenheim.
It is such a magical place to be. This is the second time we've gone and it's so amazing to see what they can create from bark, mulch, twigs, and more!
yesterday I posted about the 9/11 memorial, if you are curious...
