I whipped up a batch of Chanukah cookies last weekend for a get together I was going to. I actually used my Hamantashen dough and just used my cookie cutters - win win!
I had my mix of dreidels, stars, and menorahs.
Half of them I used sprinkles on and the other half I piped the outline in icing and for the dreidels put the Hebrew letters from the dreidel.
They came out pretty good (would have been better had I chilled the dough, but c'est la vie!) and it was a fun holiday tradition from my childhood that I was able to get around to this year.And....here's the recipe!
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup oil
4 cups flour (apprx)
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup orange juice
Mix everything together and add flour if need be to get the dough to come together. Chill for a few hours and then roll and bake at 350ยบ for about 10 minutes or until brown on the bottom.
Enjoy!

Pretty pictures and a recipe too - hard combo to beat!
they sound great and look super cute :)
Okay- I love the fact that even though I named the link up Christmas- you were able to still join in. I feel bad that I wasn't more inclusive. I will be better about that next year as I would love to have you share more of your holiday traditions as well. Maybe we could host together to combine Chanukah & Christmas sharing.
Thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate it. Have a FANTASTIC weekend!
Mmmm, I haven't made my sugar cookies yet, you have me in the mood!! Love the color blue you got!
Looks like you did good!
I own no cookie cutters, which is absolutely a shame. I really want to start a cookie cutter collection, and when I do I definitely want these 3 shapes to be a part of it.
