Pre-birthday weekend.

I drove down to NY on Friday to spend the long weekend with mom. It timed out perfectly - the weekend before my birthday. We had fun being together and celebrating my 25th a few days early.
Frida night we had some of our close friends over for a nice shabbat dinner. Mom totally surprised me with gf cupcakes for desert! They were so good and such a great way to kick start this big b-day.
On Sunday, we went into the city for a day of fun. We started off at the Met. They have an amazing Matisse exhibit and a Paul Klee exhibition as well, two of my favorite artists.
We also spent a lot of time in the Islamic art exhibit. The art and artifacts were amazing! So much use of tile and gorgeous colors.
The blues were just so vivid!
Then we made out way to mid-town for the main event - seeing Chicago! We had amazing seats - front row balcony and the show was spectacular. The cast was totally amazing and just a great afternoon out at the theater.

Then we came home, had a lovely dinner out and then came home and relaxed. Always a nice chance to get home and see mom, even more so before my birthday!

What a great way to spend the day... the Met and Chicago! Chicago was the first musical that hubby and I watched together. ;p

That's an awesome weekend! Both two things I have failed to do in NYC...museum and a show! What a great mom!
