Mt. Auburn Cemetery

Even before the events of last week went down, Emily and I had an adventure planned for Sunday. So we were even more than ready to get out and explore! We chose Mt. Auburn Cemetery, which is in Watertown, not too far from Friday's events. Robin came along too and we had a blast exploring this historical and beautiful part of the area.
There were so many old graves, dating back to the 1700s and earlier!
All the trees and shrubs were beginning to awaken and bloom - so beautiful.
Then as we got nearer to the observatory tower the Pru(dential) building and the Boston skyline came into view. Just makes me smile.
Boston, you're my home... the view from this tower was spectacular! Not a cloud in the sky and a view for miles around.
We just stood up there taking in the view and reflecting on the city we call home. (of course I was in my Sox shirt!)
Such a serene part of this area. We all agreed we were going back in the fall - it's only 3 miles from our neck of the woods so we have no excuses not to!
I stood up a little higher (on a metal box of sort) and took this panoramic. Freaked Emily and some random women out, but I'm part monkey, so I had to get as high as I could!

Oh I sooooo love Boston. When my husband and I first got out of school BOSTON is where we wanted to live. Visited the area, wanted to buy a practice there but...it was just too darn expensive for two kids starting out. But I just adore how the city is the perfect combo of old and new.
