P52: Week 18 around the sun

How in the world is it May? I can't believe that we've already flown through 4 months of 2013, that's 1/3 of the year (can you tell I am about to start teaching fractions, ha!).

This was a fun and busy week.

Sunday was a super fun day at the Red Sox game and the week kept on rolling from there!

Monday, a few of us teachers and one of our school heads drove to Brooklyn, NY to visit a school there. We left bright and early (5:30) and spent a few hours in NY and then turned right around and drove back to MA. It ended up being 15 hours in the van (yes, 15). It was actually more fun than you'd think to spend that much time with coworkers - lots of bonding and jokes about being stuck in a van! We even found a diner in CT that had a full gluten-free menu, which rocked since 3 of us are gf!

I really enjoyed the school visit and spent some time this week modifying a few of their teaching styles to work in my class - it has given me a nice boost of "mojo" as we barrel towards the end of the year!

The rest of the week was a blur of a special state election, meetings, teaching, and enjoying the arrival of spring (finally!)

Highlight of the week: Spending the day at Fenway on Sunday. The energy, the game, the fun - a great way to kick off the week!

Favorite teaching moment: teaching the kids a new word game and seeing them fall in love with it so much that they played it during snack time!

Random-osity: During hour 12 or 13 of the drive on Monday, we resorted to searching for ridiculous videos on youtube and came across this one, How Animals Eat Their Food. We watched it numerous times and were crying from laughing so hard (it also might have been because we'd been in a van for numerous hours!)

Also! I'm working on growing the blog's facebook page - won't you please join me over there as well? I post a sampling of the random things around me and would love to connect there (here) too!

Your turn and all the details:
- Post 1 photo or an many as you like each week on Monday.
- The button or text link should be present in your post - but not absolutely necessary.
- Please visit some other blogs & leave some love & encouragement.
- Submit the URL of your blog post - not your home page.
Can't wait to see all your photos each week as we venture through 2013!

Sounds like a fabulous week. Road trips can be fun if you are with the right people and sounds like that was the case!
