That's a wrap!

At 12:00pm today I will say good-bye to my amazing third graders as they walk out of the school and "become" 4th graders. I will bid adieu to my first real class. Yes I taught last year, and those kids will always will have a special place in my heart, but these kids...these kids were my first class, all on my own.
And we did it! We've all grown this year.
 We've all tried new things.
 We've made new friends.
We've had fun, without realizing we were learning.
And we've celebrated our successes.

This year was really amazing. It all started with such a whirlwind, but I couldn't have asked for a better year. I watched a group of kiddos grow and learn so much and I grew and learned so much with them and from them!

It's funny, I have so many thoughts about this year swirling in my head. I've typed and deleted sentences - proving that there are actually no words to express how I feel about this year.

I do know that is feels so good to tell these kiddos "see you in September" - I cannot wait to watch them thrive in 4th grade and to welcome a new set of 3rd graders into my room.

Here's to a summer full of fun, rest and relaxation, and preparations for next year!

My father in law was a teacher for 42 years. He told me years ago, you never forget your first class. Have a great summer.

Awww! I won't be surprised if your current crop of 3rd graders will always remember you as one of the best teachers they ever had.

What a blessing to have a job you love so much, and for those kids to have you to teach them.

Here's to summer!

I have a feeling they will not forget you. You will be the resident rock star teacher that all the kids come back to visit! Embrace summer, rest, and then seize the fall by storm!

So happy for you - It has been a gift to follow your journey this year with them! I've loved your stories of the classroom, the respect and care with which you've shared them, and the joy that this path has brought to you. Thanks so much for including us! Here's to a great summer...which should include a nice long chat over and iced coffee...or ice cream...or something iced...now that you've got a bit more time!

Wonderful post and while you may not be able to fully put into words how you feel about this past year, trust me that your sentiments and joy are jumping off the screen from your images and the words selected. Congratulations to you and your students. You sound like someone I would have wanted to teach my children. Congratulations!

Wonderful blessings will come to you for all that you did for those dear ones.

Thanks so much for liking my mannequin! I am so thrilled to have her. They were going to throw her out at my sister's middle school and my sister saved her! Now she is mine. Yay!
