Ashland

Mom and I drove south to Ashland, OR for a few days. Ashland is about 20 miles from the CA border.
The views are gorgeous, so different then Portland. And boy it's hot, but a dry heat!
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is what Ashland is known for. We saw a very interesting staging on "My Fair Lady" - it was well done, I really enjoyed all the dancing they had in the production!
We explored Lithia Park, too. It was too hot to do too much exploring, but it was a gorgeous park that runs along a river.
There were tons of places to get into the river and there were tons of kids playing in it! My feet and I decided to cool off for a bit.

We walked around Ashland for the afternoon, there were lots of fun shops to pop into and explore. It's a quaint little town in a location we'd otherwise never get to. Now we're off to Crater Lake, so so so excited for that!!

Pretty park and doesn't that clear water look so refreshing. I've never ascribed to the whole differential of hot/dry heat - to me and my sweat glands: hot is hot and I am an equal opportunity sweater.

I would love to explore a place like this. The backdrop of those mountains is magnificent. Such a polar opposite of the scenery I see daily.

Your tootsies in the water looks so refreshing -- I would do that too! Enjoy and safe travels.

Beautiful- I love that part of Oregon. I used to spend a lot of time in Grants Pass & Medford long ago. Really pretty.

We're headed to Grants Pass on Saturday - with a stop at Crater Lake either on the way there or back. I've never been to Ashland, or this far south in OR - so I'm looking forward to it!! Your pics are lovely - and I would have loved to have seen that play...

Oh, did you know I lived in the PNW in Seattle years ago. We traveled to Oregon and Northern Calif 2 times in our 4 years there. I loved it up there. Always so refreshing and nice, but when it got into the high 80s I would start to melt.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your stay. Thanks for the super tour via your awesome photos!
