Crater Lake

When I was in 7th grade, my term paper was on the Pacific Rim of Fire. I studied all the active and inactive volcanoes that make up the rim and for the presentation made little clay volcanoes to put on the huge map I had. One little volcano was different: Crater Lake.

Now, since I was 13, I have wanted to visit Crater Lake, well, I finally did!! We drove there on our way back from Ashland and it was spectacular!!
I have never in my life seen water so blue and so reflective, not even in the Caribbean!
To think that this used to be a volcano, that stood 1 mile higher than where we were standing is just amazing. Now, it's just a spectacular site to be seen. Amazing how something that was so destructive is now so gorgeous.
If you ever find yourself in the area, take the road less traveled, enjoy having zero cell reception, and come see the Crater, it's amazing.

What a glorious example of Nature at her best - the sky was certainly doing its part to help with the blueness and reflection of the lake. Thank you for sharing this fabulous location with the rest of us. I had heard of the Pacific Rim of Fire but not Crater Lake - and now I have. Stunning!
