How do I teach a child at their level?
My favorite way? It's to get down to their physical level. Seeing their eyes and seeing the thinking is a magical tool for me and for them.
If they're sitting on the floor? I sit on the floor too.
If they're at their desk? I crouch down or sit besides them, guiding them through the problem at hand.
To me I am their partner and guide through 3rd grade. Not the boss, not the supreme authority...well, okay, sometimes I have to be that...
I want to be there for them and most importantly, I want them to know that I am there for them right at their level.

Such great thoughts! You are a wonderful educator, I can tell, just by your heart!
I agree with Kim! And I love that photo of the level with the class in the background - says it all!
This is such good advice for anybody who interacts with children, parents, grandparents, etc. And I love your 'level'!
aww - you are one of the GOOD ones!!
I agree with Kim, too. You ARE one of the good ones.
I love the images you used/created to tell the story. Well done-
You are one of the fun teachers :) I would love to see you in action one day.
I wish you could have been my third grade teacher! :)
Great story with the use of the level, perfect!
That is so commendable Tamar, that you realize that. I had a great teacher in high school (biology) that was on our level in many ways. I saw him at a wedding 15 years after graduation and he was still just interested on my level. I think it was just breed in him and his teaching enhanced it. You must be a natural at it, too. Thanks for liking the pearls! ♥
definitely good advice for being with children!
Well if the rest of the world would take your philosophy what a delightful world we would live in. A+ teacher!
These kids (and their parents) are SO lucky to have you as a teacher!! What a neat idea!
How I love this. You interact with and treat kid with such respect - I hope those parents know just how blessed they are that you are in their family's lives! :)
